Eurocup Season started in the Netherlands - 23.05. 2016

On Friday Kickbike organized a welcome party in a warehouse of Vincent Gooiker´s  Steptrading where all competitors from seven European countries took dinner before Saturday sprints.

On Saturday morning it was a sprints day in Losser 400m track where Peter Groeneveld broke world 24 hours record few years ago. Nice racing atmosphere in sunny almost summer weather witnessed great sprints battles among all categories.

In women field it was a Dutch final -  Rosanne Reijne was able to defeat Fiona Olthof in last meters when Hermien Koers came third. In men field Czechs  dominated the final. Michal Kulka was the strongest in the finish ahead of his team mate Tomáš Pelc and Marek Kadlec.

No suprises appeared in afternoon relays. Ultima took victory in men and High level in women category.

On Sunday it was marathon race in well known Oldenzaal 2,6km loop. Pretty fats men race was won decided in first three laps when Ultima couple Kulka, Pelc escaped the field. Finally Tomáš Pelc took a victory.

Chasing group consisting of 4 Czech, Nicklas Rother from Germany and Dutch Daan de Jonge was not able to close a gap. Finally it was Nicklas Rother who escaped in las laps to finish third ahead of Daan and Marek Kadlec.

In women field it was close finish between Rosanne, Fiona and Maxime Reijne. Rosanne was able to go for the EC double ahead of Fiona and Maxime.

Anyway it was a great racing weekend in the Netherlands. All the thanks go to team Twente for preparing such a nice Eurocup. Now races move to the Czech Republic where EC second round takes place in Jeseník on June 11 – 12 2016.

It seems sports goes on in international point of view and after some changes in IKSA (infos coming later) we all hope in more competitors in coming races. Everyone is invited to join the Eurocup season 2016.
